Hello,
Here is a question for those who might know about burning videos to DVD - I think you know who I am talking about 8)
I'm using iMovie to convert some anologue footage (from VHS) to DVD. Basically, I hook up the VCR to the laptop using my Canopus inport device and start importing. I have about 2 hours of footage - enough to fit on a DVD. But as the project in its raw form turns out to be a good 25GB, what kind of compression do I need to set it to in order to cut it down to 4GB? I used the manual settings to cut the quality down and this process took about 15 hours; I then burned this to DVD but unfortunately there is quite a bit of noticeable pixellation, esp. when the camera is moving around a bit.
As the audio quality in the first place is crap, would you recommend reducing the quality of the audio in order to maximise the video resolution? what kind of compression does one use to get 2 one hour 'episodes' on to a dvd?
Any advice would be appreciated :)
