G'day All

I am amazed, totally amazed, that a forum such as this exists! This is bloody marvellous! I'll try and not overuse the exclamation points, but you can understand how happy (and amazed) I am that a forum such as this exists!!

I've loved d-gen since I first saw them on the ABC back in '83 or '84 or '85 (I sound like Uncle Rico). Remember when they were making that Caroline Chisholm bio... "Why then, are you using Madge Cruickshank for the role..? "Siggy wasn't available.."

Last week I watched Crackerjack again as it was on TV - I love Tony's work in this, "Nobody messes with The Stapler". That got me remembering that I taped almost every episode of The Panel, I went into the spare room, pulled out a box of old videos and found a couple of the 4-hour-taped-on-long-play videos that I've got, put one in the machine and it started at a Nov '98 episode with Mick, Tony, Glenn and Rob hosting - Tom was hiding in the corner embarrassed about his Warwick Todd moustache. The rest of that day was spent watching 8 hours of The Panel, with guests such as a young Thorpie ("I've just signed a deal with Channel 7"), Warnie getting busted smoking, Helen "Happy Birthday Helen" Durham, Jim Shiel talking about what the millennium bug means, and WW2 vet Ray Parkin.

Watching that made me think to do a late show google search, something I hadn't done for quite some time, and that lead me here. How impressive is Steve's tandarra site - that music on the homepage sounds fantastic - and Kim's champagnecomedy site is new to me too, and a goldmine of memories.

Anyway, that's me, Mr E. I'll start doing a bit more reading of this forum and the other sites too, but am looking forward to keeping in touch with you all.

I also have a story re meeting Santo, I'll get onto that soon.

Thank you all very much for the welcome.

I've added my story about meeting Santo to the 'Met any D-Gen members?' thread!
