Yeah I saw it when I had cable on the comedy channel as a bit of filler I think. I went there's TONE! And was suitably unimpressed that he'd even been involved.

Considering that comment Tone made to Steven Wright about how there were comedians in Australia making a living from doing his act - and who else but Goblett could he have been talking about - I'm kinda surprised he's involved in this. Then again, Tone does tend to show up everywhere he's asked...
Quick! Let's all get together to make a comedy short and ask Tony to be a part of it! Then when he turns up we can just ask him questions for six hours.

Tony would probably sit there for 6 hours and answer them too, provided the cups of tea were flowing.
I can't see the similarities between Goblet and him at all, or is this just a short black hair and glasses catergory? (tick.) There is also the timeline incongruity; I distinctly remember Goblet's seemingly 'kickarse' appearences during the golden era of Hey Hey, when Tony was back breakfasting in Dubbo. Apart from the fact that Tony's material has always been so clever, interesting and hilarious, whereas EG's has been well, clever (I suppose), boring and not very funny.
