How the hell long has this been out peoples?! I live within the most impenetrable walls of mundane suburbia, I need heads ups!!
Sounds like a mad read.

It was released in the UK in September 2005 but not in Australia until about February 2006.
A friend of mine actually went to Newcastle in the UK to one of the booksignings and arranged an autographed copy for me, which has a personal message for me from the man himself (teehee). So I am in fact claiming to be the first person in Australia to own a copy :)
BTW it's not really a true autobiography in the sense he just piss-farts around with his persona a fair bit.....in fact I found parts of it quite painful to read.....
Oh, and at the time, i was living in a very dead impenetrable suburb of Melbourne in terms of dullness - Heathmont is incredibly dull.....

Yeah, I heard as much from me old mukka penpal who was an enormous fan like myself BITD. I wonder where I could find a copy? I certainly never heard about it's release in '06.

The annoying thing was, it was meant to be released in about October of 2005, then put back, then put back, then put back.....
I have seen copies on the shelves in Dymocks and in Angus and Robertsons. Dunno if it's still in print here though.
Ebay is perhaps another option?

You can borrow my copy if you want.....although I'll hunt you down if it's not returned, considering it is autographed!

I'd like to but I don't think I'd trust Australia post? Maybe if we did it registered mail??
The second hand copies are very cheap though, but messing around with second hand stuff on amazon is annoying, you're not dealing with the company. I bought one thing from the UK amazon second hand once though that worked out okay.

Thanks for the kind offer kat-rant, but I would need my own copy (old obsessions die hard!). Even if by all accounts it's a bit of shocker. I will just keep an eye out everywhere.

They're on amazon second hand menagers for like 50 pence.

It's worth it, especially for 50p.
I've been halfway through it since I started this new job 4 months ago. No more time to read. :(

I found some parts of it were pissfunny, but other parts really painful to try to get through.
