I was about to take the tube home at Leicester Square after mooching around HMV, when I noticed there was a premiere happening at the Empire.
Apparently Mulder and Scully had already made their appearance in the crowd and on the balcony, but a few people were milling around saying they'd come back out later, so I thought I'd stick around.
Unfortunately I happened to find myself behind several very obsessive, greasy male fans, all in their 40s. Their hair looked like it hadn't been washed since 1973, and one of the guy's hair was so matted, not in a dreadlocks way, more like a bird's nest way. It was like that episode of Seinfeld where the valet parks the car and his BO becomes part of the car and spreads to everyone who touches it. It wasn't sweaty BO, it was homeless person on a bus type BO. Well, they might have been homeless, so I profusely apologise if that is the case, but otherwise, there's no excuse! I had to stand there for 20 minutes listening to them discuss which cast members' autographs they were yet to collect. One guy had dog-eared pencil sketches of both of them, and another had all these magazine clippings of Gillian Anderson. Another kept elbowing me in the boob. How they smelled, they smelled... and yet another guy was going, "I can't believe there are people here WITHOUT autograph cards or cameras. I call them public nuisances!" Not sure if he was referring to me.
Presumably as they are obsessed they'll find this thread one day. Meh.
Anyway, they (and Chris Carter) eventually came out to cries of "Miss Anderson! Miss Anderson!" I hope David didn't think the BO was emanating from ME when they stopped in front to sign autographs. Gillian's very pretty in real life!
Apologies for the crapness of the pics.

Sorry, Kim, i'm sure it was a horrific experience for you, but I just can't stop myself giggling :)

Oh, and for the record, for someone like me who's naturally got quite curly hair, my hair looks like if I don't wash it for as little as 3 days.......

Squeeee!!! Although, believe me, I feel your pong-pain from the bottom of my heart. Once we had a homeless man check in to Hotel de Alfred and some bright spark young nursie thought "I know what I'll do with his two sodden garbags of his repugnant possesions.... I'll pop them in the dryer!". PONG FROM THE DEPTHS. My nasal hairs are still in a flutter. Almost as bad as the time I caught a waft of Paul McDermott in his gig gear *cough* *splutter*

Who is that old man in Richie Benaud get up?

I don't know, but I want me some.

And that hair shot has given me ribache!

Is that the cream, the bone, the white, the off-white, the ivory or the beige?

isn't that chris carter, the creator of the x-files? i presumed it was him, as people kept yelling his name out and he was signing autographs.

Are all the Starbucks closing over there too? I can't believe that they are all closing here.
SPOILER Beige for snowboarding pants? Cool. Beige for a suit? Hmmm. Still he could wear a ridiculous Mick Jagger as Ned Kelly beard and still look kissable.

that cream, bone, white, off-white, ivory or beige line is from the 12th Man, as Ritchie has a variety of jackets because he's the commentary team captain.

Oh yes, I know. Year 7 camp Ace Hi Ranch Rosebud - that tape ruled supreme.

"Did anyone holler for a Marshall?"

Starbucks will never die here in London, I'm guessing. What's the reason for the pull out from Australia?

Nice to know that people have voted for quality in Australia.

Probably the best part of Wired World of Sports.

My favourite is Wired World of Sports 2, the Max Walker impression cracks me up every time

Nice to know that people have voted for quality in Australia.

Reminds me of a movie I saw that no one's ever heard of; Love's Brother, with Giovanni Ribisi. Tells a lovely story about some Italian migrants and their wonderful machine.

Haven't been to a Starbucks for about 6 years. Actually scratch that, I think I've been twice, once because I was being paid £30 to critique an advertisement about dancing eggs (it went to air!), and the other time for a meeting. They are everywhere here.
I think in Australia Gloria Jeans entered the market early and got a better foothold for the cappuccino types?
I just went to a nice place called Tiki Cafe - http://www.matthewalgie.com/what_we_sell/tiki-brand.html
Free WiFi, delicious fairtrade coffee and pretty much free rein for me to do my work downstairs with only an adorable, quiet Japanese toddler and her mum for company. Although I do prefer the 'Coffee@' cafes in east London.

David Duchovny checks self into sex rehab clinic (http://www.bigpond.com/news/entertainment/content/20080829/2350021.asp)

:o :o

I am aghast!

First thought - the fan fic writers are going to go OFF!
Second thought - is this just a publicity stunt for Series 2 of Californication?
Third thought - So was Californication basically just a biopic??
Fourth thought - WTF?? Is this for real?

Oh dear.

1) Is it really a good idea to put all the sex addicts together?
2) I bet his wife's glad of the break!

Your 1) was probably my sixth thought. As for your second, well, I've loved Tea Leoni since before she was DD's Mrs. And really the whole kerfuffle seems to plainly say that he was unfaithful. WOMAN GETS SHAFTED AGAIN. No doubt David decided to beat some Divine Brown type chick to the tabloid-punch.

I did see a cheeky look when our eyes locked together for one hundredth of a second when I was behind the smelly man. *cough*
Michael Douglas, Russell Brand, Billy Bob Thornton... who else has had it? And why does it "coincide" with the movie and TV series?
Let's use the word "alleged" when we talk about Divine Brown-alikes here...
