Did anyone know that our own Josh Lawson was the lead in the US version, that never made it past the pilot... didn't think so. Good thing to, seeing as how the Yanks would've ruined it

For those who already bought it from the UK, the local version is the shiny new USA edition, with all the old stuff plus bonus new commentaries from the cast with famous US types. Because Diablo Cody's star will never wane...

(on the plus side, Patton Oswalt also does a commentary or two)

I'm happy with my R2 edition. I don't need no US actors fawning over a show I already know is awesome.

And yeah, Josh was going to be in the US version. I would have liked to have seen at least a pilot, just to see what they planned, but it would have been incredibly difficult to transport the whole Spaced concept. Sure, there was the simple premise - 'two people pretend to be a couple in order to get an apartment', but it wasn't really about that at all.
