In the sketch, the Splade of Damocles enabled anyone who wielded it to 'stay awake during The Oz Game.'

Anyone have the opening credits from the D-Gen TV show?
I was sure I'd seen it on YouTube somewhere but when I did search for it yesterday I couldn't find it.

Anyone have the opening credits from the D-Gen TV show?

by willab93 » Fri Oct 29, 2010 5:26 pm

I found the D-Gen theme song single (and Five in a Row) at a local second-hand music shop last month. Nick Bufalo sings it. The TV mix on side one is the normal theme tune, while the dance mix features samples of various speeches, including Gough Whitlam's dismissal speech and someone saying "It shall be the policy of this station to regard...of the United States". I listened to it and I can't get it out of my head.

The words are:
"They've postponed our graduation,
We've put on hold our education,
We're more concerned with relaxtion,
Now we are the D-Generation,
D-Generation.

We have a new slam on education,
It's all based on observation,
We recreate the situation,
With the new style, new style
Of the imagination.
D-Generation.

We don't want to analyse the inflation,
Don't want to deal with legislation,
We've become a group mutation,
Products of video communication.
D-Generation.

You can see what we can see,
You know it can be found,
Anywhere, everywhere,
All you need is some re-education,
By the D-Generation.

And the line "D-Generation" is repeated until the end of the song (along with some "woh-oh" harmonies)

Are you still making copies of Thanks for Being You?

by Guest » Wed Aug 31, 2005 9:52 pm

For those people looking for a copy of 'Thank You for Being You', I remember borrowing a cassette copy of it from the St Kilda Library many, many, years ago.

But guess what? It is still available!

Looked up the Port Phillip Library website, and its Emerald Hill branch (195 Bank St, South Melbourne) has a copy.

Being a public library, just because it is available doesn't necessarily mean it is on the shelf - but one of you keen people out there might be interested in tracking it down.

My favourite sketch is the sword and sandals epic, The Splade of Damocles. Tommy G's mincing Roman emperor cracks me up. He used the same voice when he played an arsonist in the Funky Squad radio serial.
