I go to a pub for a weekly trivia night.

Last night, Fox Footy's The Back Page was on in the background.

I spotted the Todd Rixon clip from Pot Luck being used in a segment.

What of The Spangles, and that rather sensitive contestant who, after Bernard's judging, was teary?

Tony commented,

"Brace yourselves. Bernard's comments aren't for the faint hearted."

When Bernard asked him if he had any ambitions, he said he was going to become a legend.

That didn't happen, but he's still around, performing under the stage name of Lucky Jackson.

He also entered Triple J Unearthed.

Nice find!

Now I wonder where Krista Krull is at?

So we have Bernard King to thank for Keith Urban. Thanks a lot, Bernard.

Bernard King.

There was an OZ Day Quiz in News Limited newspapers on the weekend.

Question 4.

Bernard King was a judge on Pot of Gold, the precursor to Pot Luck.

He told a young Keith Urban, a contestant on the show, to;

"Kindly learn to sing in tune."

Keith Urban related this story to Conan O'Brian on US television.

Probably because he knows he'd get hassled by Late Show fans!

No. Not that I know of.

Chris Lopes became something of a science boffin.

There was an article about him in my local paper in 1994. He won some science award for his design for a solar panel.

I did cut out the article, but I threw it out. If only I kept this, since I'm sure that forum members would have enjoyed reading it.

As for what Chris Lopes is doing now, I have no idea. He doesn't appear to be on any of the groups for ex students of my high school that are on social networking sites.

Was he still singing at that point?

This thread hasn't been active for a few years.

Pot Luck contestant, Chris Lopes attended my high school.

According to a classmate whose younger brother also went to my high school, then attended the same university that I did, the Monday after Chris Lopes' act aired as a Toilet Break on The Late Show, he copped it something rotten.
