Couple of snippets for the Meatpie/Australian Pie/Going Down Under fans:

Garnet Mae has remade Quentin Tarantino's 'Reservoir Dogs', but added his own unique twist: It's called 'Reservoir Cats' and it's an all-female cast. Such genius!

Since I discovered it this morning he's already taken the YouTube clip of the opening sequence down, but the 'name scene' is still up.

The aim is to raise $1,000,000 for charity but according to the site it's only raised $75. The related IndieGoGo page shows it's raised $500 of a $5,000 target. A co-worker bought 3 tickets and is already having second thoughts, after I just about had a fit this morning upon discovering who's behind the film.

I also found out this morning that he ran an illegal hostel which caught fire and then failed to show up in court to answer the charges. I'm starting to think that Garnet Mae is (with apologies to TM) truly the last Aussie auteur.

GOLD:
"Mr Mae, who made the 2005 film Australian Pie about a man losing his genitals in a blender and getting a replacement from a porn star..." Does that beat "nappy-wearing astronaut"?

Who wants to dob him in? This is blatant copyright infringement, even if it is for charity they should have expressed permission from the copyright holder which I presume they don't.

Re: The name scene - The Joe "Daddy" actress is just awful !!

Scene shots such as the zoom in on 'Orange' were nicely replicated, but the acting was not..

The subtle changes like 'Black' to "Purple' and the 'Melbourne' references were good.

I can see why there's only $75.00 raised - I thought that was a pisstake myself, but who's to say.
