Recommend some good comedy podcasts

Post by Mason Hell-Cat » Fri Aug 28, 2009 10:38 am

If you know of some good comedy podcasts, post them in here - I'm looking for new stuff to listen to.

Along with your suggestions, please answer the following questions (for me to determine if your suggestions are valid):

1) I find Rick Gervais
a) Boring and dull
b) Lame
c) Hilarious - one of the funniest men of our age
d) Ricky who?

2) I believe Kate Langbroek is
a) really under-appreciated
b) a fresh breath of relief
c) Funny!
d) Unfunny, and unintelligent. Why is she still in entertainment when clearly
something like naturopathy would be more up her alley?

3) The 7pm Project is
a) Ok if nothing else is on
b) Abhorrent
c) Hilarious - especially Carrie Bickmore, she's a crack!
d) A waste of air-time

4) 'Jackass' is
a) My kind of show - hilarious and fun
b) Kind of lame when it all boils down to the nitty gritty
c) Rivetting - I could watch it over and over
d) Disturbing

5) If I were one of the Goodies, I would most likely be
a) Graham Garden
b) Bill Odie
c) Tim Brooke Taylor
d) Rolf Harris

Thanks in advance,
Mason Hell-Cat.

I'll recommend SModcast, which can be downloaded at http://www.quickstopentertainment.com/smodcast/. It's Smith and his producer Scott Mosier shooting the breeze. Although it does get very blue, but if you're a fan of his films then you'll like them. As for the questions:
1c 2d 3a 4d 5e (too young for the Goodies.)
Now a'Tweetin'.

1) C

2) D

3) D

4) B (But I still LMAO  )

5) C

Whether I qualify or not, I listen to:
- Peacock and Gamble;
- Frankie Boyle - only has one out though :(
- 8 Out of 10 Cats; - I bloody love Jimmy Carr.
- The Writer's Room; - see above.
- Stephen Fry's Podgrams;
- Daniel Kitson (only has four and it's clips from a stand up gig, but well worth it)

Can't think what else. I tend to just cycle through my Get This and Ricky Gervais XFM shows for stuff to listen to.

I have some Russell Brand shows but he doesn't really do it for me. I don't mind his stand up, but on radio - :|
1970's?

I strongly second SModcast. There was a short-lived thread on it here if you want some starting recommendations:

showthread.php?t=1245&highlight=smodcast

I'll answer your quiz as long you promise not to bust the Stasi on me.

1. A bit of B, a bit of C
2. Watered-down D
3. D
4. B ("Lame-ass" does it better)
5. C. Goodies goodies yum yum.

I third Smodcast and second the Daniel Kitson one too.

I'm not going to answer those questions because they seem stupid to me. Except the Goodies one which I would answer Graham and you have already said that is wrong. Graham was definitely the best Goodie.

Graham
No, it's Graeme. Sigh.
I just want to pop him on a bit of toast and eat him right up.
