Santo (& Sam[and possibly Tom]) Filling in on MMM for two weeks

Post by Ontos » Wed Jul 25, 2012 10:34 pm

As mentioned by SS on Twitter.
http://www.radioinfo.com.au/news/11229/ wrote:Working Dog’s much-loved comedy talent Santo Cilauro and his counterparts have been secured to fill the shoes of Triple M Melbourne’s Rush Hour drive show hosts James Brayshaw and Billy Brownless for a fill-in show being especially produced for Melbourne audiences while the drive duo are in London for The Olympics.

Cilauro, who appeared regularly on Triple M Melbourne as part of the Number 1 Breakfast show ‘The D-Generation’ in the 90s will be joined by his former TV co-host from ‘Sports Fever,’ Sam Pang to team up with a cavalcade of Australia’s most respected comedians, personalities, entertainers and sport tragics. Word is that Tom Gleisner is threatening to drop in too.

Cilauro says it has been years since he last worked at Triple M, “but arriving back in the building, it was great to see that some things have not changed. The carpets for one…

"Sam and I are really looking forward to filling in for J.B. and Billy on ‘The Rush Hour – Going For Gold.’ And, it’s great to be back on Triple M, Melbourne’s non-official, non-authorized, non-sanctioned and totally non-rights holding, non-broadcaster of the Olympic Games.”

While the Rush Hour – Going for Gold show will not be an Olympics show as such (in case you missed it, Triple M isn’t a rights holder), the team will certainly reflect, discuss and dissect the biggest sporting event in the word as well as all the big AFL news and breaking sports stories across the board.

According to Triple M Melbourne’s head of content, Mike Fitzpatrick: “The opportunity for Triple M to be working with Working Dog again was too exciting to resist. It’s been 20 years since the D-Generation finished their breakfast show on Triple M and we’ve been aching to get them back ever since.”

Triple M’s Hot Breakfast with Eddie McGuire, Mick Molloy & Luke Darcy will also keep the flame alight each morning with live broadcasts from London and exclusive access to the famous athlete hot spot, The Last Lap at Chinawhite in Leicester Square.

Rush Hour – Going for Gold will be heard between 4pm – 6pm from Monday July 30th to Friday 10 August. James Brayshaw & Billy Brownless will return to their regular Rush Hour show on Monday 13 August.
and calling it policy!

Finally a reason to be logging The Rush Hour...

Cos that Mick and then Tony that we had on for a few years didn't count, nah mate.

Cool for Santo, but aye carumba, Triple M is one weird joint.

Hearing Mike Fitzpatrick on the Cage for all those years I ascertained that he was a deadshit, this proves it really.

I'm about to start slicing and dicing in case anyone else was about to start or had already. Please post if you're already started and I'll leave it up to whomever, otherwise I'll give it a go. I could hear Tom at the end, but I didn't listen to the broadcast.

edit- Ah someone from fb has offered to edit it for me.

p.s. Today's guest was Glenn Robbins.

It's been said that Ed may/will be a guest!
