Perhaps this will work instead?

Yo, Foolhardy, how old is that photo? Hmm? Because I think I'm in it. A couple of months ago I woke up in the Burvale carpark. Small world, 'ey?

Burvale Hotel and Wobbie's World photos

I took the photo a few weeks ago, when I went on a ride on the new orbital Smartbus that runs from Airport West to Chelsea. The service that runs where I live goes along Springvale Road.

Job Warehouse currently has a bunch of "everything must go" signs up in the window. It's meant to be closing down for years now, but this is a step up so it might not have that much longer to go.

Late Show Locations - Padre Pio

Post by foolhardycousingeorge » Mon Feb 07, 2011 6:07 pm

As I was serving a customer at work today, I noticed that inside her purse, she had a little card with a picture of Padre Pio. This picture was the same one that Mick and Tony made fun of in their segment on wacky shop names.

I assume that this card would have come from a Catholic Book Store, and would have had "Pray, hope, and don't worry" printed on the back.

On the other hand, it could have had, "Pray, hope and keep your dacks on."

Late Show Locations - Bargar** / Bluey

Post by foolhardycousingeorge » Mon May 02, 2011 10:35 am

Since the classic 1970s detective series, Bluey was shot in Melbourne, I sat down yesterday, and watched Bargear** to see what locations I might be able to recognise.

Many locations will have changed in the last 33 or so years, but I spotted the following. I'm certain that these are accurate, but anyone is welcome to correct me here!

In the opening titles, the staircase Barge**** descends could have been at the Victoria Park or Collingwood train stations.

In the first episode, where Bargear** chases after Christopher Skase was filmed around Melbourne's Docklands. The old sheds are still recognizable, even with all the redevelopment going on around the area.

The motel that Detective Glen Twenty goes to, looks a little like the front of some flats I see, just before the railway overpass that crosses the Eastern Freeway, between the Clifton Hill and Victoria Park train stations.

The Windsor Hotel is on the corner of Bourke and Spring Streets in Melbourne.

In the car chase sequence with Glen Twenty and Bargear**, and the flatulence powered turbo boost, I spotted roads around the Housing Commission estate around Preston/ West Heidelberg.

Bargea*** speaks to a prostitute on a walkway overlooking the St Kilda foreshore.

Bargea*** jogs around Albert Park Lake.

Bargea*** is admitted to the Preston and Northcote Community Hospital. This was closed in the late 1990s. Today, a hotel/ conference centre is on the site, which can be found on Bell Street, Preston.
