Post by moondogi » Wed May 27, 2009 9:25 pm

Can anybody out there tell me who what was thename of the band who had a singing drummer?

It was shown on Late Show during a toilet show break.

I purchased "Best Bits" but it wasnt there!

I remember it was on Darryl Sommers' Bandstand during the mid-70's

Please help - this has been bugging me for years.

Umm, I'm not sure she was wearing a bra.

Dunno! Does this page help jog your memory at all? Well, someone else will most likely know anyway. So this post is irrelevant!

Ah, here we go! Countdown classics s1e14 reads as follows:

Peaches' performance on stage showing why female drummers must wear bras.

Was it Peaches? I remember the clip, and the serious lack of bra!

EDIT: Oop, that was weird, well done waker!

When there's a prospect of ogling a pair of free-range chest bunyons consider The Sniv on the case. This is what I've found on my pokings-around thus far and it's in bullet form:

• Peaches were a four-piece all-girl Sydney group in the late seventies. They released one single, a cover of Substitute by Clout, in nineteen-seventy-eight which reached number eighteen on the Oz charts. (it's deliciously appropriate that their one-and-only hit contains the word tit)

• The drumming bunyoneer in question is named Nanci 'Huck' Kaye. She's also drummed for Suzi Quatro. She mightn't know much about bras but she obviously knows about drums.

I was watching the ABC Aus rock series "Love Is In The Air" the other day, and there is a small snippet of this footage in the Countdown episode.

That's because 'Love Is In The Air' lifted heaps of their footage from Jane and Tom's Countdown Classics! I may be the only person who is outraged by this, but my fury knows no bounds!!

Weren't Tom & Jane responsible for discovering some lost Countdown episodes? I think I heard something to that effect somewhere.
