Just thought I'd point out that next month, it'll be 17 years since the first season of The Late Show.

Being June, it's been 16 years since the start of season 2.

Rewatching Episode 1 of season 2, where they had the launch party and they show the guy from ABC radio National interviewing Tony (whom makes an appearance later on when Lucky Grills appears in the audience as Bargearse during the Sydney ep), I just realised he's an acquaintance of mine!

Small world...

You mean Lawrie Zion? They were mates, the D-Gen and he. Can't think of the exact connection now, he may have known the ones who were at Melb Uni with him, back in the day. He was also a pretty well liked presenter on Triple J back in them days, "the early nineties". When we all wore Tencel jeans.

The Sound of Aus guy. Brilliant show that, well worth checking out on DVD. Santo's in it.

That's him! I forgot his name (shame on me). We'd always bump into each other when I used to report for the ARIA Awards for a few years. Haven't seen him since I stopped going around 2006 :(

He was also the movie guy on The Panel for a while. He's currently (no doubt amongst other things) teaching journalism at... some Melbourne Uni. LaTrobe?

Lawrie also came up with the concept of the Hottest 100 for Triple J...

I'm also fairly sure that he wrote the opening article in Behind The Frontline.
