Moderated chats?

Post by BeerStud2 » Mon Dec 05, 2005 1:38 pm

Hi Kim,

I was just wondering if through the website, we can have a moderated chat set up? (Doesn't need to be moderated I spose, but can help weasle out dumb comments). Im thinking if we were able to get an ex-Late Show person to come on, perhaps they'd participate in a moderated chat?

What do you reckon? Is it even possible??

Cheers,
Mason.

That's not a bad idea. It'd be good to have a former D-Gen member on here.

How would you contact them though?

just to clarify, are you talking about discussing topics without straying off topic? (like we all tend to do)

Nah, Im all for straying off topic.

I just mean a live, chat window thing. You know like they have on say the ABC website ("After the program, Saddam will be joining us for a live chat").

I'm in !!! But you need to broadcast an email to everyone's accounts since most of us probably dont traffic the website regularly ..

Hey Kimbo.. you know how we can sign up for replies on our topics.. can we also sign up for *new* topics ??? Occasionally I forget to check back for a week or so to find a whole bunch of new topics !!

I will look into this. I am sure it's quite easy...... the hard bit is trying to get an ex D-Gen member into a moderated chat

In terms of receiving an email when a new topic arrives... this isn't possible with the standard phpBB2 setup, but there might be an add-on available.

You can of course check for new messages since your last login by clicking the link at the top right corner, if that's convenient!
