Hmmm. An interesting question.

I remembered you asked this many years ago when I first joined this forum.

On the weekend I was watching Rage Goes Retro which included a segment from the ABC show Flashez. One of the hosts was Mike Meade. The segment had a shot in which Mike Meade appeared to be smoking something. Possibly cannabis?

Did he kick this habit by the mid 1980s when he began working on children's television? Apart from hosting Now You See It?, Mike Meade dabbled in acting. He appeared in a Blinky Bill TV series that used puppets.

I don't know. How would he have scored a job working on a children's show if he had that kind of history?

Yep that’s me alright, one of the hangers on!
Glad to see that my small efforts haven’t been without merit after all these years!

I've just found this forum and I'm glad to see we have some UK based people who appreciate this bastion of Australian comedy greatness, which was the D Generation.

And guess what, many, many, many moons ago, on a different continent, a land full of enormous furniture warehouses, Panel Vans and Big bins, I was a very small part of all this malarkey, I kid you not!
Oh yes dear reader, as an ABC employee, I plied my trade regularly serving up visual delights for these very shows from the hallowed studios at Ripponlea.

Think G-Spot the dog, think Cat-scans and exploding Santo heads, ...yes I was there......it all now seems like a distant dream.....!
In the wise words of Santo Cilauro during the credit roll on series 2 ep 1, "..the credits are just an ego trip for the writers and a whole lot of other hangers on, ..who's ever heard of Jeff Smart hey"!

HA HA, THATS ME!
What a laugh!
Oh, so this is a reference to you here?: https://youtu.be/GKFbEKCKWpk?t=1597

Welcome aboard!

As I write this, David Armstrong (aka Double A) is reading the midday news on 3AW. The last I heard of Dennis Twilight (aka Dennis Tamaris) was last summer. He was on 3AW's Weekend Break with Grubby and Dee Dee, as a guest on a legal segment.

13 schoolyards wrote: Tue Aug 16, 2005 11:37 am I'm sure I've mentioned this elsewhere here, but I was a huge DLB fan - I've still got both their tapes and their crappy G'N R inspired t-shirt somewhere. I even taped their recent 'reunion' special on RRR... which, to be honest, wasn't all that special

Leapin' Larry is currently writing a fair bit of stuff for The Age, Brett Duck is Nine News' Brett McLeod, Double A is still reading the news on some radio station I only ever seem to hear on public transport, and Dennis Twilight is... out there somewhere.

Dennis Twilight is now a lawyer.

These days, he goes by his real name, Dennis Tamaris.

He still dabbles in radio. He is a guest on 3AW's Weekend Break show, which airs during summer.
