That's brilliant. Shows how much he cared about the show. I bet he made notes too, saying which bits did and didn't work.

Did you know their typical working day would end around 1:30am and then re-start at 9:30am?

That's the kind of dedication that seems to be lacking in Aussie comedy at the moment - why sit down and work hard to come up with really funny stuff when you can make a couple of prank calls or roam the streets shouting abuse? Thing is, that hard work really does pay off - each of the Martin / Molloy CDs must have made the duo a decent amount of money, while Matt Tilley's prank call CD just gathers dust...

That's something that goes unmentioned, the sheer work ethic of the D-Gen.

Think of the Late show where Santo famously said on the DVD commentary, it would be a great weekly show if the week was nine or ten days long.

A lot of those sketches would have taken heaps of time to do, for instance think of how many times something had to be exploded or how many famous people made cameos (which would have taken plenty of phone calls and organising)

Also Mick and Tony were legendary for their 15 hour days with MartinMolloy and The Castle, a full-length feature film took something crazy like 30 days to make. They must have squeezed a lot in.
An almost fanatical love of the safari suit.

Man, you definitely have to get the CDs. Martin/Molloy released 3 double CDs of the best bits from their radio shows. "The Brown Album" (I have mine signed!!), "Poop Chute" (I always had problems spelling that), and "Eat your Peas". Available at all good service stations.
