How do I spread the Working Dog gospel to the barbarians here in the UK?
I give copies of Molvania/San Sombrero and Phaic Tan to everyone, but it's not enough.
Most of them have never even heard of Frontline.
Talking of which, I vaguely remember in the nineties reading about a US remake of Frontline.
A couple of years ago, I emailed Working Dog to ask about it - idle curiosity, no desire to watch it - but they didn't know anything about it.
Was I dreaming?
Thank you Kim, for what looks like a great forum, albeit with a slightly intimidatingly massive knowledge base.
Merry Xmas to all.
Simon

Re: UK Calling
Could you get hold of the DVDs of The Late Show, and show them to your British friends? Though, much of TLS was very topical, so a lot of the sketches, like the Jeff Kennett one, would have to be explained to people.
Shows like TGYH would be more accessible.

Late reply here
The US Frontline remake you're thinking of might be how the show was re-titled to Breaking News or Behind the Frontline when it was shown in the states. No remake (as far as I know). The Newsroom from Canada was quite similar in style.

Re: UK Calling
Very interesting to learn that there are fans of Working Dog (and, I'm guessing, The D-Generation) in the UK.
Back in 1991, I remember making a mix tape for my English pen friend. This included Australian singers and bands, and the D - Generation's Courtroom Sketch. She enjoyed the courtroom sketch a lot.

Ah I remember pen-friend mix tapes!
