Joy of Sets: What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

When you’ve finished watching Dufflecoat Supreme recover after winning the Melbourne Cup with a case of gout, stay awake to watch episode 7 of The Joy Of Sets on Channel 9  at 10:30pm tonight. In this themed episode “What Could Possibly Go Wrong?Tony Martin and Ed Kavalee break down the ever-growing list of television bombs and failures.

(You never know, they could list Funky Squad, The Mick Molloy Show and The Nation!)

Some areas that will be covered are:

  • Why did they go wrong?
  • Was it bad acting?
  • Was it a bad set up?
  • Did it have an unrealistic timeslot?
  • Did it star Warwick Capper?
  • Was it lacking sizzle, traction and cut-through?

Get on it, before they add their own name to the list.. 🙁

Mick Molloy Embassador for ‘The Elevenses’

Source: theelevenses.org

In a combat to fight third world hunger, Mick Molloy has been enlisted to be the embassador for The Elevenses.

The Elevenses is not a movement or campaign, but a project to raise funds to help those facing malnutrition and disease in the Horn of Africa.

The rules are simple – donate $11AU by 11th November 2011 (11/11/11) and the Australian Government will match it dollar for dollar. So if you donate $11, the Government will donate $11, totalling = $22. The target is to get $1,111,111 by 11th November.

Joy of Sets: Episode 6 ratings

Source: facebook.com/TheJoyOfSets

The ratings are in for this week’s sixth episode of The Joy Of Sets – “Who Killed Warwick Capper?”. Since being bumped out of 9pm to the ‘special time’ 10:30pm timeslot last week, ratings have slightly improved from 191,000 (episode 5 with new time) to 242,000 (episode 6).

While not Yasmin’s Getting Married type of ratings, it shows that the Tony Martin and Ed Kavalee fans are still staying up to watch Tony’s brain work overtime to try and simplify the funand interesting stories and moments in television.

If you missed out on the breakdown of characters being entertainingly killed off, or even the best ways on how to kill off Alan Dale in any tv show, check out the episode on FixPlay when available. It’ll count toward the ratings this show needs to keep afloat.

Also, Warwick Capper got kicked off Celebrity Apprentice, so if you want more Capper jokes, The Joy Of Sets is your only option.

Source: http://www.facebook.com/TheJoyOfSets

Don’t forget to tune in to Channel Nine at the sizzle and cut-through time of 10:30pm tonight for a new episode of The Joy Of Sets.

In tonight’s episode, Tony Martin and Ed Kavalee decide to kill off Warwick Capper! All right, that’s good stuff! The character, not the man himself (he’s too busy with Celebrity Apprentice).

Character Elimination examines and breaks down what shows do to ‘kill off’ popular and un-popular characters in sitcom and reality shows to keep the viewer interested for at least 30 seconds.

If you’ve missed previous episodes, check them out for free on Channel Nine’s catch-up channel: FixPlay.

Book mentions

As part of a new mock-autobiography released by H.G. Nelson (Greig Pickhaver) called My Life In Shorts, Brisbane’s Courier Mail (24/10/11) printed a Top 10 list of  mockumentary-style TV shows, Books and films.

The list comprised of US show Modern Family, as well as the Christopher Guest‘s classic film Best In Show (Tony Martin‘s favourite This Is Spinal Tap failed to get a mention!), but the first two on the list were two Working Dog entries:

Aaaannnnd Today!….

After 6 years of using an old system which didn’t get upgraded, we missed the boat and had to do things the hard way.

With a front page that didn’t get updated much, being spammed like no tomorrow, and other dilemmas, we employed Geoff & Terry Bailey for $50 to give us a makeover we desperately needed.

Upon gazing into the technically advanced colour computer system, we’ve updated our style, and now we are looking a little more schmick!

There are a few bits and pieces that are missing, due to them either being out of date or no longer existing on the world wide web. These news bits and pages will be corrected and updated over time. But also now there’s more accessibility! The glory of YouTube gives us all more access to random Late Show segments, plus other valuable ‘hard to get’ items that you may or may not find in the heritage listed Champagne Comedy Forum. We also have Facebook with 8,500 fan geeks and growing.

This site is as close as you can get to the biggest collection of D-Generation / Late Show / Working Dog memorabilia that the internet has to offer.
